The Yale Record is America’s oldest college humor magazine, a
fact you may already have noticed since we’ve plastered it all over
this website. Since we were founded in 1872 (into what seems now a
far-off world, one without automobiles, female undergraduates, or
un-sexually-frustrated male undergraduates), we’ve got a long, crazy
history, and some pretty cool alumni as well.
The current magazine
is published four times a year, along with supplementals, barring catastrophe on a scale of
The Core—although production of past issues has been
suspended due to a sudden lack of movement of the molten ore at the
center of the earth—and is circulated on and off campus in print
form, by email, and by
astral
projection. If you’d like to subscribe to the Record,
you can either do so here or
email the
Circulation Manager for more information. Please send general questions to the Chairman, and advertisers should contact the Publisher.
If you’d like to join the Record, there are plenty of ways
to do so; you don’t even have to be funny to come hang out (although
some sense of humor is preferred). Joining the staff—as a writer,
artist, designer, or business staffer—is easy and more or less
painless. If you’re interested in joining, email
record@yale.edu, or come have
some free pizza at our weekly meetings, on Tuesdays at 9PM in WLH
112.
That about does it…if you have any further questions, don’t
hesitate to contact us; meanwhile, have a look around the site and
try to laugh a little…it’s good for you.
Yours in funny,
The Yale Record |
