Dear game theory professor,

Well, you’ve really got me in a dilemma. If I cooperate with my study group on this problem set, then we’ll all have less work to do. If, on the other hand, I betray them and do no work at all, then I’ll have the advantage, because they’ll be stuck picking up my slack. But on the other hand, if we all betray each other, then the outcome will be worse for everyone, because no one will have done the problem set! Ugh. If only we weren’t all rational, self-interested people.
