PowerPoint presentation somehow fails to enliven class
... The Yale Committee on Teaching and Learning is
currently investigating allegations that a PowerPoint
presentation by Christopher Bell '05 somehow failed to
stimulate and energize the other students in his Monday
history of art seminar, Portraiture in Colonial Canada.
"I don't understand," a befuddled Bell explained.
"I used humorous, somewhat relevant clip art on every
slide, and I even made my paragraphs zoom onto the
screen one letter at a time with a typewriter sound.
I thought it was awesome." Unfortunately,
according to reports, three members of the twelve-person
seminar fell asleep during Bell's presentation, and
another four busied themselves sending text messages.
Meng Tan '06, another student in the seminar, asked,
"What do you expect? There's no way a PowerPoint
presentation can escape being lame. It's the
ultimate tool tool." |
